Karen Cannon Shanks

Karen Shanks is a Partner at Hotze Runkle PLLC and has represented injured victims and their families since graduating from law school. Karen began her career representing workers suffering injuries from workplace exposure to asbestos and other toxic substances.   Since that time, she has continued to focus her practice on helping injured individuals and families seek justice. She has extensive experience in a number of areas, including mass tort litigation, medical malpractice and nursing home negligence, labor and employment, probate, and claims made under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

Karen is licensed to practice law in all state courts in Texas and Louisiana, and is also licensed to appear in the Southern and Western Districts of Texas.

Karen was recently recognized by the National Trial Lawyers’ association as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer.  She is also a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice and the Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association.
